Giovanni Whisperer??

Ever since Giovanni was born, he hasn't been much of a sleeper.  This is especially true, unfortunately, when he is around me - his mom.  When he gets around me he wants to be awake, not asleep.

Bronwyn, however, seems to have the magic touch when it comes to Giovanni.  When he was little (littler than he is now) she could just sit with him on the couch and watch TV.  He would lean on her and before you know it he was asleep.  If she held him in the car, he would most certainly conk.

Well, even going to Rwanda for 2 months has not changed this love/sleep relationship.  The last few days, if he wakes up too early from his nap, she will go in, hold his hand for like 15 seconds and boom - he is back asleep.  This is a ritual that takes me 5 minutes - on a good day.

So, we will make the most of these mysterious skills during last two and 1/2 months before she goes to college.  Then her little brother will be missing her.  Me too.

These will be the last two and 1/2 months that ALL of my kids will be living full-time at home.  Boo hoo. No, wait - YEAH!  No, really it is Boo hoo.  But we won't talk about that right now.

  1. It is certainly what we raise our kids to do...grow up and be prepared for the next stage of life--independence. However after the first year of college nearing the end, I am ready for Conor to be home for the summer. We all adjust but I think it's hardest for those left behind.
